A word from the founder
Dear students, dear mums and dads, dear fellow teachers,
School takes up a lot of space — for you children and teenagers, but just as much for you parents; not to mention us teachers. It shapes our everyday life, the mood at the dinner table, the self-confidence a child grows up with. All the more reason that the time we put into it should be worth it — and above all bring you children joy. You should enjoy going to school! My lovely wife Alice and I have four children of our own, three of them already at school — we feel it every single day.
I studied computer science, mathematics and physics, and these fields have been my passion ever since I was ten years old … and, to my own amazement, they still are! In a former life I was a manager at BMW and Porsche, yet cars never really meant much to me. I wanted to be closer to society again — and I love working with children and young people.
And so, for the past two years, I have been teaching mathematics and computer science at the very school my children attend, while completing my practical training as a trainee teacher. To me, education is the bedrock of our society — and the basis of a thriving democracy. It must never be a privilege. You children are the future of us all — we can never nurture and challenge you enough.
What outsiders never see is all the detail and the work behind the scenes. It is the same with teachers. People like to think: oh, being a teacher is pretty cushy — afternoons off and 14 weeks of holiday a year. Well — sadly, the reality looks very different! The actual teaching is not the work at all; that is the joy. That is the why we teachers do this job in the first place. The work lies elsewhere: preparing lessons, communicating with parents, resolving issues within the class — and, of course, creating and marking tests. Even simple things like “you have to stay for detention” set off a whole cascade of paperwork per student.
And so we teachers are always left with no time for what matters most: being human for the children — simply being there, helping when help is needed, noticing when students are troubled, whether at school or at home. A state that, of course, I am not spared from either.
That is why, at Stroodle.eu, I am currently working to bring two things together:
And the name? I deliberately wanted nothing that even smells of “school” — but something a little crazy and playful: Stroodle. The “S” still stands for School — but really, I just love strudel, apple strudel most of all. My grandma and my mum made it again and again. Sooo delicious. I hope I can bring a little of that “made with love” into this project.
And the “.eu”? That stands for Europe — and for a second cause close to my heart: we in Europe must move closer together if we want to keep the world from coming apart at the seams. Perhaps one day I will manage to think of education not just for Bavaria, but for Germany — and eventually for all of Europe. Weighty visions, I know — but important for our future in Europe, and therefore especially for our children and the generations to come …
I cannot wait for you to use the first parts of Stroodle.eu here. By the way, you can sign up here — then I will keep you posted.
Let us make learning together what it was always meant to be: curious, alive, a little bit inspiring — and as delicious as a piece of strudel …
— Yours, Stefano

The Stroodle recipe
Five steps from curriculum to aha — fresh from the Stroodle kitchen.
The official recipe is the base — every competency, every learning area measured to the gram.
Hands-on tasks, step by step — on phone and iPad, with instant feedback.
Try, fail, try again: every attempt turns into understanding. That's exactly how learning works.
Together the dough rises: students puzzle things out together, teachers share what works.
Done, fresh and curriculum-accurate. You take the course and get going.
In the making
We build openly and step by step — and you're in from day one.
Every course comes fully in German and English — ideal for bilingual teaching, international classes and CLIL.
Code it, try it, see it instantly — right on iPad and phone, with no installation.
Every unit built like a good lesson: theory, task, aha moment, recap.
Tasks check themselves, progress stays visible — for students and teachers alike.
The courses go where the work happens — into the ByCS learning platform or onto our own.
Every competency, every learning area — mapped in detail to the official Bavarian curriculum.
Web-first and highly responsive — students work on exactly the devices they already use.
No vague resemblance: every lesson, every task is mapped to the official competencies and learning areas — subject by subject, year by year. Quality is our most important ingredient.
A cross-border initiative for schools and teachers who rethink teaching — connected across Europe, innovative and hands-on. We share ideas, material and the courage to experiment. The club launches soon, and interested teachers can sign up right away.
